Infertility Specialist Brings Compassionate Bedside Manner and Reproductive Expertise to Manhattan Fertility Practice
(New York, NY – August 1, 2012) Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) announced today that Jeffrey Wang, MD, a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, has joined its New York City infertility practice as Associate Medical Director.
Dr. Wang takes a compassionate, patient-oriented approach to fertility treatment, and strives to empower his patients to make their own decisions. With a focus on both the physiological and the emotional needs of his patients, he guides them through a balanced treatment regimen and helps them to navigate the process smoothly.
He has been recognized by his peers and patients as an outstanding and compassionate physician, as witnessed by many professional awards and recognition.
Prior to joining Sher Institute, Dr. Wang spent 11 years with Columbia University’s Ob/Gyn and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) programs as a Resident, Fellow, and Attending Physician.
During his time at Columbia, he served as Chief Resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was recognized with multiple teaching excellence awards.
While his range of clinical expertise is comprehensive, he has a special interest in unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriages, and repeated implantation failure following IVF.
Dr. Wang joins Medical Director Drew Tortoriello MD and Hyacinth Nicole Browne, also recognized nationally by their peers and patients as a Compassionate Physician award winners, at SIRM New York.
“I am looking forward to working with Dr. Tortoriello,” said Dr. Wang. “We have the same professional philosophy—to deliver the most advanced care with individualized and patient-centered approach. Also, we are receptive to new ideas and are constantly searching for innovative methods to improve the quality of care and to remain at the frontiers of reproductive medicine.”
Added Dr. Tortoriello. “I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Wang previously at Columbia University, and have known him to be an exceptionally intelligent, kind, and diligent physician. I am thrilled that he will be joining me as a member of the SIRM family. His genuine compassion and clinical skill encompass that rare combination which I have always emphasized as the key to optimal and complete patient care.”
In addition to English, Dr. Wang is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, which allows him to connect with and more effectively serve the Chinese population in the New York Metro area.
