Meet Merry Kay Montgomery, RN, Clinical Manager at Sher Fertility St. Louis
I became a clinical coordinator at Sher Fertility because … I have always been interested in female reproduction. I came from a background of Obstetrics and Gynecology, worked as a Doula, and taught childbirth education classes. When I was offered the opportunity to join Sher Fertility in St. Louis, I jumped at the chance. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
The hardest part of my job is … Giving negative results. Waiting for HCG results has to be one of the most difficult parts of the IVF process for our patients and staff. Our hopes and prayers are with each patient.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is … Experiencing the IVF journey along with our patients, and watching them finally achieve their dream.
The question I get asked the most is … “I am on birth control pills and I am having my period, is this normal?” Break through bleeding is very common when getting adjusted to birth control pills.
The one thing I wish our patients understood better is … The importance of looking at their calendar every day, to check and recheck dosage for medications for that day before administering them.
One little known fact about me is … I used to sing in a country band and took third place country singer in the Illinois State Championships ITCMA.
